Women in Health Tech Forum

Advancing Gender Equity in Digital Health Innovation

Background

The integration of technology into healthcare is transforming the industry, offering innovative solutions to enhance patient care, optimize service delivery, and expand access to health services. However, despite significant advancements, women remain underrepresented in the health tech ecosystem – both as innovators and beneficiaries. Women-led health tech startups receive a fraction of the available funding, and gender disparities persist in leadership roles within digital health enterprises.

Women play a critical role in healthcare as caregivers, professionals, and decision-makers, yet their contributions in health technology are often overlooked. Addressing these disparities is vital for ensuring that digital health solutions are inclusive, effective, and responsive to the needs of diverse populations. This forum will explore strategies to enhance women’s participation in health tech, identify challenges they face, and highlight best practices in fostering gender equity in digital health innovation.

As we build on three years of momentum, HealthTech Hub Africa is hosting this high-level forum to convene key stakeholders and thought leaders to discuss the role of women in health tech and explore actionable strategies to foster a more inclusive and equitable digital health landscape.
